Detailed: In the presence of L-tyrosine and absence of L-phenylalanine, TyrR negatively regulates the expression of genes required for chorismate biosynthetic process, shikimate metabolic process, aromatic amino acid family biosynthetic process, aromatic amino acid transport and tetrahydrofolate biosynthetic process, additionally, positively regulates the expression of a gene required for specific tryptophan transport and dually regulates the expression of a gene required for specific L-tyrosine import. Under these conditions, TyrR is modified to TyrR-L-tyrosine, binds its target sites enabling in some cases, preventing and dually regulating in other the expression of its regulated genes. In the absence of L-tyrosine (and L-phenylalanine) TyrR unbinds its target sites enabling in some cases and preventing and dually regulating in others the expression of its regulated genes.
