2 From the total 322 transcriptional DNA-binding regulators, 180 have experimental evidence and the rest are computationally predicted based on their helix-turn-helix DNA binding motif.
3Previously, there was a list of 180 transcriptional regulators experimentally determined (with 244 associated functional conformations), but as 27 of these putative regulators have no regulatory interaction known they were deleted, leaving only 153 known regulators. In addition there are 158 computationally predicted, making a total of 311 estimated regulators.
