|Gene(s):||dhaM, dhaL, dhaK Genome Browser M3D Gene expression COLOMBOS|
|Note(s):||The dhaKLM operon is induced by Dha. With this inductor, DhaL is dephosphorylated and DhaL::ADP (nonphosphorylated form) displaces DhaK and stimulates DhaR activity. In the absence of Dha, DhaL::ADP (nonphosphorylated form) is converted by PTS to DhaL::ATP (phosphorylated form), which does not bind to DhaR. DhaL functions as a coactivator and DhaK as a corepressor of dhaR transcription, respectively Bachler C,2005.
dhaKLM were found to be downregulated in a MG1655 lysogen carrying the Stx2a phage PA8 1208335|.

|Note(s):||1Between the dhaKLM operon and the dhaR gene there is a 190-bp-long intergenic region that divergently transcribes them. DhaR is an (auto)repressor of the dhaR gene and an activator of the dhaKLM operon Bachler C,2005.1Between the dhaKLM operon and the dhaR gene there is a 190-bp-long intergenic region that divergently transcribes them.
