Note(s): The lldPRD operon is induced by l-lactate metabolism Aguilera L,2008. lldPRD, among other genes involved in carbon source transport and metabolism, were downregulated in two MG1655 lysogens carrying closely related Stx2a phages O104 and PA8 1208335|.
A potential RNA G-quadruplex structure, formed by guanine-rich sequences located in the coding sequence region of the gene, was identified for lldD and for lldP . This structure could regulate the expression of the genes, as observed for hemL gene expression Shao X, Zhang W, Umar MI, Wong HY, Seng Z, Xie Y, Zhang Y, Yang L, Kwok CK, Deng X,2020.

Previously, Lynch and Lin (1996) identified two promoters (lldPp1 and lldPp2) which controlled transcription of the lldPRD operon. They also identified, by computational methods, PdhR as the regulator of the lldPp1 Lynch AS,1996. Recently, based on experimental evidence, Aguilera et al. (2008) demonstrated that lldPRD is not under the control of PdhR and that transcription of the lldPRD operon is directed by the single promoter Aguilera L,2008.
