Note(s): LeuO binds to three sites in the yjjQ-yjjP intergenic region (from -147 to -347 upstream of the yjjQp promoter). Although Stratmann et al. (2008) used a purified protein, they did not mention the exact position of LeuO in this region. The LeuO-binding site overlapping the yjjPp promoter is required for full derepression of the yjjQp promoter Stratmann T,2008.
LeuO-binding-mediated DNA looping may prevent spreading of the H-NS complex into the promoter of the yjjQ-bglJ operon Stratmann T,2008.
