Gene
Name: glvG    Texpresso search in the literature
Synonym(s): ECK3672 (obsolete), ECK3673, EG11708, b3681 (obsolete), b4556, yidM, ysdC
Type: Pseudo Gene
Genome position(nucleotides): 3861173 <-- 3861987 Genome Browser
Strand: reverse
Sequence: Get nucleotide sequence FastaFormat
GC content %:
53.5
Note(s): glvG is designated a pseudogene that encodes the N-terminal half of a 6-phospho-α-glucosidase.
The glvG ORF in E. coli K-12 MG1655 has suffered a 508 bp deletion between 8 bp direct repeats (GAACCACT), which would be located between nucleotides 3861387 and 3861388 in the current genome sequence. The formerly annotated ysdC ORF represents the C terminus of the ancestral gene. An intact version of glvG is present in E. coli HS; see 6-phospho-alpha-glucosidase.
UniProt ID of the truncated GlvG ORF: P31450
