In assay experiments, it was demonstrated that disruption of any one of the three sites of the NorR transcriptional regulator prevented autogenous repression of norR transcription. All three sites are required not only for activation of the norVW operon but also for repression of the norR gene, since NorR acts cooperatively Tucker NP,2006. |
