fkpA operon and associated TUs in Escherichia coli K-12 genome

Operon
Name: fkpA
This page displays every known transcription unit of this operon and their known regulation.

Transcription unit
Name: fkpA
Gene(s): fkpA   Genome Browser M3D Gene expression COLOMBOS
Note(s): A potential RNA G-quadruplex structure, formed by guanine-rich sequences located in the coding sequence region of the gene, was identified for fkpA . This structure could regulate the expression of the gene, as observed for hemL gene expression Shao X, Zhang W, Umar MI, Wong HY, Seng Z, Xie Y, Zhang Y, Yang L, Kwok CK, Deng X,2020.
Evidence: [COMP-AINF] Inferred computationally without human oversight
[EXP-IEP] Inferred from expression pattern

Name: fkpAp1
+1: 3477525
Sigma Factor: Sigma24 Sigmulon
Distance from start of the gene: 106

                                 -35                  -10   +1
Note(s): The fkpAp1 promoter was induced by zinc in a microarray analysis Yamamoto K,2005
The transcriptional start site of the fkpAp1 promoter was also determined by Rhodius VA,2005, although they identified two transcription initiation sites for this promoter with the following absolute positions: 3475548 and 3475547.
It was suggested, from high-throughput screening of maps of transcriptional start sites (TSSs), that the TSS (3477525 ) assigned for this promoter is an RNA processing site Lacoux C,2020.
